Elementary composition, chemical valence, and content change of HTPB propellant stored in80℃hot air for0,13, and 24 weeks were investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. It was concluded that HTPB propellant at normal-temperature (25℃) storage is oxidation crosslinking in earlier aging stage and degradation in later aging stage via fitting XPS spectrogram of C, O, N and Cl elements; the main reason of HTPB propellant aging failure is that NH4ClO4 is slowly decomposed to attack unsaturated C??C double bond and then results in lower content of C??C double bond. |
