Abstract:
The influence of seawater desulfurization on the corrosion behavior of Corten steel-weathering steel for chimney was studied based on electrochemical techniques and field exposure test. The service life of chimney lining was forecasted after implementing seawater desulfurization to the chimney lining by using grey model GM(1,1). The result showed that the implement of seawater desulfurization accelerates the corrosion of Corten steel for chimney lining and the corrosion rate reaches maximum at 140-meter high place of the chimney; the corrosion rate of Corten steel increases gradually at the initial stage and the corrosion rate of Corten steel becomes stable about1year later; the weld area of Corten steel is cathode relative to the base and in a protected status; in the fuel gas of seawater desulfurization, the grey forecast formula of maximal corrosion rate of Corten steel is x(k+1)=-0.432 11e-0.105 15k+ 0.458 11.
