Abstract:
Objective To prepare a metal anti-corrosion coating with self-healing property at room temperature. Methods Self-healing microcapsules of Phenol-formaldehyde resin F-51 and Self-healing microcapsules of room temperature curing agent DG593 were added to the metal anti-corrosion coating. Influences of microcapsule content on mechanical property, corrosion resistance and fixing performance of coating were discussed to determine the best additive amount of microcapsules and research the time required for self-healing of coating at room temperature. Results The content of microcapsules had significant impact on mechanical property and repairing property of coating. When the mass fraction was 15%, the coating had good repairing property and could keep good mechanical property. The time for self-healing of coating at room temperature was 6 hours. Conclusion The self-healing anticorrosive coating has good corrosion resistance. The research results can provide a reference for the development of metal self-healing coating.
