Abstract:
The paper aims to study the interference rules of parallel pipelines in three-dimensional terrain and provide reasonable measures to reduce parallel pipeline interference. BEASY software was used for numerical simulation in this paper, by setting different coating damage rates, pipe diameters, soil resistivity, output currents and other parameters, the effects of different parameters on the interference of parallel pipelines in 3D terrain were explored. Mutual interference indeed existed between the parallel pipelines. Compared with single pipelines, the protection potential of the pipeline near the auxiliary anode became negative, and the potential of the pipeline in the far distance became positive. As the parallel spacing of the pipes increased, the interference decreased. The larger the earth resistivity, the larger the anode output current, the closer the auxiliary anode to the pipeline, the smaller the pipe diameter, the more severe the interference between the parallel pipelines. For parallel pipelines under independent cathodic protection, the parallel spacing of the pipelines is recommended to be greater than 80m; for parallel pipelines under combined cathodic protection, the parallel spacing of the pipelines is recommended to be less than 7 m.
