Abstract:
Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) behavior of TA15titanium alloy before and after 2years exposure in marine platform and marine splashing zone was studied using WOL specimen and static displacement method. The pre-cracking condition of TA15titanium alloy was discussed. KISCC of the alloy was measured using cracking ending method.lg(da/dt)-KI curves were plotted and the relationship between stress field intensity factorsKI and velocity of crack propagation da/dt was discussed. The fracture surface was inspected using SEM and the fracture characteristics were discussed.
