Abstract: |
Aluminum alloy is widely used in aviation industry, which makes it a key issue to evaluate the life aluminum components. Fatigue crack initiation and early stage propagation behavior of pre-corroded aluminum alloy under stress cycle was studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) in-situ observation. Results indicated that corrosion pit has significant influence on fatigue crack initiation and early stage propagation. A formula to evaluate the small fatigue crack initiation life of aluminum alloy with different corrosion damage was proposed based on local strain method. |
