Abstract:
Objective To study the structural performance of a novel improved rotary mixing aerator. Methods A rotary mixing aerator was placed at the bottom of the aeration tank , and the tank was filled with water, followed by adding a reducing agent (sodium sulfate) and a catalyst (cobalt sulfate) to remove oxygen. The concentration of dissolved oxygen in water was reduced to zero before the beginning of aeration, and the data was recorded by the dissolved oxygen meter. The aeration oxygenation efficiency was studied and compared. ResultsAfter ventilation for 8.5min at room temperature (20℃) under the same conditions, the saturation status was reached, and the K1a values of the improved rotation mixing aerator were found to be higher than those of the conventional rotary mixing aerator through calculation based on the data recorded, indicating high oxygenation efficiency. Conclusion The overall oxygenation performance of the improved rotary mixing aerator was enhanced, and the aerobic biological treatment efficiency was improved to some extent, which could help to reduce the investment cost and the operation cost in sewage treatment plants.
