Abstract: |
ObjectiveTo investigate the initial-stage corrosion behavior of material exposed to the atmosphere of Xishuangbanna.MethodsSeveral methods including weight loss analysis, SEM, XRD and FTIR were used to study the corrosion rate and corrosion products of No.45Carbon Steel exposed to the atmosphere in Xishuangbanna for1year. ResultsIn the initial stage of corrosion, the main corrosion products were γ-FeOOH, Fe(OH)3 and Fe3O4,together with a small amount of α-FeOOH. ConclusionThe results showed that the corrosion level of Xishuangbanna atmospheric environment was C2. The chemical stability of rust layer gradually increased with the time, which then strengthened the protection function of the rust layer for the substrate. |
