Abstract:
Objective To clarify the favorite type of the two-exciter vibration test for a slender specimen. Methods Different test fixtures were designed for different testing types of a selected slender specimen. Finite element method was used to analyze the modal characteristics of the specimen and the fixtures. Two types of two-exciter vibration test were carried out to verify the analysis and the different dynamic responses of the slender specimen in different two-exciter vibration tests were studied. Results Modal analysis and test results showed that the combination of specimen and fixture in the mode of flexible suspension correctly reflected the specimen’s intrinsic modal characteristics, while the modal characteristics were notably changed in the mode of fixture fixation. Conclusion The flexible suspension method was more suitable for the slender specimen in two-exciter vibration test.
