Abstract:
Objective To study the contamination condition in satellite cabin after baking operation in the process of thermal test, so as to provide an effective method for contamination control of satellite. Methods The contamination deposition mass and the vacuum pressure were monitored with the quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) and the vacuum test system. The changes of the deposition mass and the vacuum pressure before and after quiescence in high temperature were compared. Results The contamination deposition mass was 1.8×10-5 g/cm2 in the process of thermal test and the contamination deposition mass was 5.67×10-6 g/cm2 in the process of baking phase. The vacuum pressure was 2.9×10-2 Pa before the bake-out phase and the vacuum pressure was 2.3×10-3 Pa before the first temperature cycle phase. Conclusion The contamination deposition mass in the process of baking phase was about thirty percent of that in the thermal test. The baking method can decrease the vacuum pressure level from 10-2 Pa to 10-3 Pa, which can decrease the contamination condition in satellite cabin effectively.
