Abstract: |
In order to protect effect of cathodic protection and reduce interference of DC stray current to surrounding metal structures for a certain oil pipeline project, the existing relevant standards and specifications combined with the mechanism of cathodic protection were considered to compare and analyze layout of deep well anode and cathodic protection scheme. It is found that the whole oil depot was surrounded by pipelines of this project. As a result, if the applied current cathodic protection was adopted in the foreign pipeline of reservoir, no matter how the anode well was arranged, the cathodic protection current may interfere the metal structure such as the storage tank in the oil depot, and the position of the anode well should be determined from the aspects of construction, maintenance, divergence of protection current and investment. To protect the pipeline effectively and minimize the interference of cathodic protection current to metal structures such as storage tanks in the oil depot, the product oil pipeline between separation point and oil depot can be insulated and sacrificial anode protection might be applied to this part of pipeline. |
